
NAPLES, Fla. (Aug. 12, 2014) – Agave Bar & Grill has earned the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the third consecutive year.
Wine Spectator’s 2014 Restaurant Wine List Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.
Locally owned and operated, Agave features a wine list that is 103-wines strong with an inventory of 500 wines. To complement Agave’s cuisine, the wine list focuses on American wines primarily from California vineyards. Eighty percent of the Agave wine list is American wines. Twenty percent are highly rated wines. Ninety-six percent of the list is priced at $100 or less; 81 percent of these are less than $65; and prices range from $23 to $200 per bottle.
This year’s 3,748 Restaurant Wine List Award winners span 50 states and 81 countries and territories. The Award of Excellence (one-glass award) was achieved by 2,791 restaurants, which recognizes a wine list of approximately 90 or more quality wine selections that thematically matches a restaurant’s cuisine.
The Agave bar features happy hour daily from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with signature margaritas, craft beers, 25 wines by the glass, the coldest beer on tap at 29 degrees, hand-crafted cocktails and barrel-aged inspirations by expert mixologist and beverage manager Janelle Kahle.
The 300-seat dining establishment offers a full bar, three private audiovisual technology equipped dining rooms and two outdoor seating areas.
Agave Bar & Grill is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
